Began only fairly, raced towards rear, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made good progress thereafter to take 2nd. (See Racing Incidents.)

Slightly slow out, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 150M, ran on evenly, lost 2nd on line.

When questioned R Kingscote stated that near the 600 Metres he elected to shift to a one-off position to follow GOOD GOOD. He said as he did so FIREFOOT commenced to race keenly and as a result he was obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of GOOD GOOD which resulted in FIREFOOT shifting out and making contact with HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER. He added when he was satisfied there was then sufficient room to improve between GOOD GOOD and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER he then placed his mount under pressure to obtain that position. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Kingscote to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Began only fairly and bumped, raced at tail, 6 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, very wide into straight, made good progress in the run home without threatening.

Bumped on jumping. M Guyon reported that his instructions were to ensure that he led tonight’s race. He said after racing in the lead YODA’S CHOICE was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Blundered on jumping, raced 3 wide in midfield, no cover on turn, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped awkwardly and made contact with YODA’S CHOICE. When being steadied to allow VIVA TASTE to cross leaving the 1600 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied to avoid that runner. STAR BROSE continued to race keenly throughout the early and middle stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from a tricky gate, raced prominently on the outside, 1/4L back turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between SPECIAL HEDGE which shifted out and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

Began well from the widest draw, unable to slot in early, slightly taken back after passing 1100M, raced behind midfield on the outside, 5 lengths back turning in, weakened early in straight.

Lay in shortly after the start and was bumped. Near the 550 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FIREFOOT when that runner improved into a run where there was doubtful room between GOOD GOOD and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER. M Chadwick reported that after being bumped and taken wider near the 550 Metres his mount was unable to finish the race off thereafter and gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked approaching 150M, ran on evenly to the line.
