Began only fairly, raced towards rear on the inside, angled out 400M, 7 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 1400 Metres was eased to avoid AEROINVINCIBLE. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, positioned 5 lengths behind the leader on the inside, 2 wide from 650M, checked near 500M, made little progress in straight.

Jumped only fairly. After being held up for clear running leaving the 400 Metres was then checked passing the 350 Metres to avoid ZHOU GONGJIN which commenced to give ground quickly. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced towards rear of midfield, 2 wide, closer on turn, made some progress in straight without threatening.

Out with rest, raced towards rear on the inside, commenced move 550M, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, 3 wide from 650M, closer on turn, kept on well in straight but always just held.

Near the 1400 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid KA YING GLORY (K Teetan) which shifted in when not quite clear. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care. Continued to race keenly in the middle stages.

Bumped shortly after start, raced better than midfield on the outside, moved a bit closer after passing 700M, made slight contact near 500M, 3 wide turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running. Again for a short distance near the 100 Metres was held up behind THE AZURE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out shortly after start, 2nd in the early and middle stages, travelled keenly and lost position near 700M, raced slightly better than midfield on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 100M.

Jumped awkwardly. R Kingscote stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position with his mount stepping up in distance.

Began well from gate 10, raced 3 wide behind midfield, sent forward after passing 850M, took the lead near 600M, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight to hold off the challengers.

M L Yeung could offer no real excuse for the performance other than the horse did not appear to be comfortable racing in amongst other horses. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide better than midfield, closer after passing 700M, 3 wide turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M.

A Atzeni stated that he was under the instructions to ensure that he led the event. He said as a result ICONICAL set a pace inside of standard time throughout the early stages and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions were to show intent to lead the event but, in his opinion, the pace of the early stages was too quick. He added that ICONICAL was also disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by WAVE GARDEN. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, headed near 600M, 2nd on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

The performance of ZHOU GONGJIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ZHOU GONGJIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, moved closer after passing 850M, 2 lengths or so back turning in, finished off strongly to take 2nd, nearest finish.

Incident Report
K Teetan stated that his mount hung out badly throughout the event and as a result he was unable to ride the horse in a competitive manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. The racing manners and performance of KA YING GLORY, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KA YING GLORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
