On jumping made heavy contact with TURQUOISE VELOCITY due to both runners shifting ground. Z Purton reported that his mount found it difficult to finish the race off under its top weight of 135 lbs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from the widest draw, raced slightly better than midfield but trapped wide, 3 lengths or so back, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 300 Metres was accidentally struck across the head by the whip of R Kingscote, rider of FULL OF LAUGHTER.

Began only fairly, positioned 3 wide with cover, 4 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, finished off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between SO MY FOLKS and MAGIC SUPER which shifted in after being steadied away from FULL OF LAUGHTER. Again near the 100 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between SO MY FOLKS and MAGIC SUPER.

Taken back from gate 10, raced behind midfield on outer, bumped near 1200M, 5-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

L Ferraris stated that his mount became badly unbalanced on jumping when it stumbled. He said as a consequence DERRYNBLUE lost ground and then in the early stages did not travel well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Clean jump, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, hit the front 400M, kept on very well to the line, won comfortably.

J McDonald stated that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the event and gave ground noticeably over the final 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, ALSONSO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
