Began awkwardly and made contact, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final furlong.

On jumping shifted in and away from I AM BACK after making contact with that runner. As a result STRAIGHT TO GLORY then shifted in and made contact with AMAZING PARTNERS. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, there to turn, made contact near 350M, unable to obtain clear run in straight.

Began only fairly, positioned 3 wide with cover, 4 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, finished off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Taken back from gate 10, raced behind midfield on outer, bumped near 1200M, 5-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

Jumped only fairly. Near the 800 Metres was crowded between LUCKY FIELD and QUICK MONEY which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from the widest draw, raced slightly better than midfield but trapped wide, 3 lengths or so back, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping. Passing the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded between I AM BACK which was taken out slightly by STRAIGHT TO GLORY and TAI VICTORY (H T Mo) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. H T Mo was advised to exercise more care.

Away well, positioned 3 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on same pace in the run home.

K Teetan reported that from the outside barrier he was given the option of taking up a forward position if his mount jumped well. He said when PATCH OF TIME commenced well he elected to go forward and comply with his instructions but was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result PATCH OF TIME raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued.

Clean jump, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, hit the front 400M, kept on very well to the line, won comfortably.

C L Chau reported that his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages and endeavour to find cover. He added that throughout the early stages QUICK MONEY raced keenly and would not settle as he endeavoured to comply with his instructions.

Bumped shortly after start, positioned 2 wide, 1 to 2 lengths back, there to turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line. (Lame right front leg next day morning.)

Jumped awkwardly, shifted in, made contact with MEGA MASTERMIND and as a result lost ground. In the early stages raced ungenerously. Near the 900 Metres was briefly crowded by MEGA MASTERMIND and then hung out shortly afterwards and as a result became unbalanced.

Began well, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped at start, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made no impression in straight.

Passing the 1100 Metres became slightly unbalanced when racing tight between MEGA MASTERMIND and STRAIGHT TO GLORY.
