Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running. H Bowman was fined $8,000 (5th offence) for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres.

Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. <20/12/2025 Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that DRAGON JOY had sustained an injury to its right front tendon on the day after racing. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON JOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 400 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS to obtain clear running. J McDonald reported that his mount initially responded to his riding in the early stages of the Home Straight but failed to run on over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, made some progress early in straight, no extra final 150M.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M Guyon stated that, in his opinion, the horse may not have backed up from its last start on 30 November 2025. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on evenly in straight.

U Rispoli stated that the intention was to find a midfield position with cover. He said CHARMING LEGEND was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence could not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from gate 11, raced towards rear on the outside, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.
