Shifted out at the start and made contact with KING ALLOY. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL WINNER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced 3 wide in midfield, difficult to settle throughout, 3-1/2L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Made contact with a rail entering the racecourse and then became unbalanced when entering the All Weather Track. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800 Metres was eased when crowded between GLORY CLOUD and YEE CHEONG RAIDER which shifted out slightly. Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind COLOURFUL WINNER. After improving into a tight run between COLOURFUL WINNER and GLORY CLOUD leaving the 200 Metres then could not be fully tested until passing the 100 Metres when it shifted to the outside of GLORY CLOUD.

Bumped start, raced at rear, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Away well, positioned 2 wide, a length or so back, found rail near 550M, 1-1/2L back turning in, kept on evenly in straight.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between GLORY CLOUD and WINNING MACHINE.

Taken back from gate 9, raced behind midfield, difficult to settle, checked and dropped towards rear near 1350M, raced 3 wide behind midfield in the middle stages, 6 lengths or so back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Out in line, raced 4 wide with cover behind midfield, no cover from 800M, 4 lengths back turning in, finished off well to take a place without threatening.

Began only fairly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, saved ground throughout, 8 lengths or so back turning in, kept to inside after straightening and finished off strongly to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.
