Began smartly from gate 9, took the early lead, headed near 800M, a length back on turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked on run 150M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Incident Report
Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Near the 1000 Metres was bumped by SWAGGER BRO and taken wider. Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running. Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres then raced tight between REWARDING BUDDY and CALL TO COMMAND which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start, raced 3 wide in midfield, no cover throughout, very wide turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M.

Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running and made contact with IMPENDING LEGACY. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began awkwardly and lost ground, raced at tail, 7 lengths or so back on turn, angled out early in straight, made contact near 200M, made very good progress final 100M to be nearest on line.

When being shifted behind GENIUS BABY approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid GENIUS BABY when SWAGGER BRO shifted out to avoid LEGENDARY IMPACT. Near the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of SWAGGER BRO and LEGENDARY IMPACT to obtain clear running. M Guyon was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres.

Began well from a wide draw, positioned 2 wide, 1-1/2L back, carried wider turning in, showed very good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on strongly to the line, won comfortably.

Incident Report
Shortly after the start shifted out, made contact with GENIUS BABY and became unbalanced. Near the 1000 Metres blundered after making contact with GENIUS BABY. Near the 150 Metres blundered. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from the widest draw, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, took the lead near 800M, led by a length turning in, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 100M.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M L Yeung advised that from the outside barrier his instructions were to go forward. Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions issued.

Began only fairly from a wide draw, raced behind midfield on the outside, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, made contact near 200M, eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

Jumped with them, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, 3 lengths or so back, there to turn, made some progress in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Slightly slow out and crowded, raced 2 wide towards rear, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer C Fownes could offer no excuse for the performance and advised that he will now spell the horse as he was of the view that it had reached the end of its preparation. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, kept on well in straight to take a place without threatening.

Shortly after the start bumped with GENIUS BABY and became unbalanced. A short distance later BASIC INSTINCT was then steadied when crowded between GENIUS BABY and MASTER RESOLUTE which shifted in slightly.

Bumped start, positioned 2 wide, 3 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, showed limited response early in straight, not enough room final 100M.

Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between CALL TO COMMAND (M L Yeung) which shifted in slightly and SILVER SPURS (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out. Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care.

Jumped well, positioned 2 wide slightly better than midfield, angled out 350M, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

On jumping made contact with the hindquarters of BRAVE WIN. Near the 300 Metres was bumped by REWARDING BUDDY (K C Leung) when that runner was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
