Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the middle track, closer in the middle stages, a length back at 400M, hard ridden approaching 300M, showed very good response, took the lead 250M, kept on strongly to the line and scored.

Bumped heavily at the start. Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and approaching the 200 Metres blundered when being shifted to the inside of FLOWING RICHES.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. M L Yeung reported that his mount lay out and away from SMART GOLF after the 200 Metres. He added that after the 100 Metres when he used the whip in his left hand he aggravated an old injury to his left shoulder which restricted him being able to fully apply the whip over the concluding stages. Jockey Yeung was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.

Shortly after the start made contact with CHATER FLASH and became unbalanced. Raced greenly throughout the event and near the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between LUCKY PLUS and FLOWING RICHES which lay out and away from SMART GOLF when that runner shifted out as it hung out.

Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of HYANNIS STAR to obtain clear running and over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when being eased to avoid HONORARY which shifted in. J McDonald reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
