Stewards' Comments
Out with rest, positioned 2 wide better than midfield, angled out approaching 650M, 3 wide turning in, showed good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on well to hold off the challengers late.
Incident Report
Sent for sampling post-race.
Bumped on jumping, raced towards rear on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off strongly to take 2nd on line, just beaten by a neck.
Incident Report
On jumping was bumped by CELESTIAL HARMONY which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.
Began awkwardly and made contact with the right side of its starting gate, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, very wide turning in, finished off well to take a place. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right side of its starting gate. Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards considered if there were sufficient grounds for a protest/objection against either MR GOOD VIBES being declared the winner or PANDA LEGEND being declared the second placegetter after both horses shifted ground near the finish of the event. When the Stewards were satisfied that the crowding to GANGNAM STAR did not occur until passing the winning post they declined to lodge a protest/objection and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
Began awkwardly and crowded, taken back to race at rear on the outside, 5 lengths back turning in, unable to obtain clear run until approaching 75M, finished off well to make frame, no threat to the first few. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded by ONLY U which shifted in abruptly. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned K De Melo stated his instructions from a wide barrier were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said as a consequence HARRY’S HERO settled back in the field where it followed PANDA LEGEND during the race. When questioned regarding his riding near the 500 Metres K De Melo stated that when PANDA LEGEND shifted out at this stage his mount, which was racing keenly, improved to the inside of PANDA LEGEND and therefore he elected to remain in this position with a view to following ONLY U and PERFECT PEACH into the race. He added after shifting to the outside of ONLY U near the 400 Metres he commenced to ride his mount along but near the 300 Metres he was disappointed for clear running between MR GOOD VIBES and ONLY U when that runner shifted out, which resulted in HARRY’S HERO being held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey De Melo were reasonable in the circumstances.
Began awkwardly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, angled out after passing 700M, 3 to 4 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made some progress thereafter.
Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running and was shifted to the outside of CELESTIAL HARMONY near the 300 Metres.
Bumped shortly after start, sent forward to race prominently, 2 wide, allowed rival to cross near 900M, 1/2L back turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened final 50M.
Incident Report
H T Mo was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 150 Metres.
Made contact at start, raced 2 wide in midfield, wider after passing 700M, 2-1/2L back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 250M, ran on evenly to the line.
Incident Report
Near the 350 Metres made contact with CELESTIAL HARMONY when improving into a narrow run between MR GOOD VIBES and CELESTIAL HARMONY.
Taken back from gate 9, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
A Badel reported that from a wide barrier and with blinkers being removed he was instructed to ride SUPREME WINNER in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions and advised he issued those instructions as SUPREME WINNER has not been finishing its races off when ridden in a forward position and had barrier trialed well on 14 October 2025 when ridden in a conservative manner in the early stages. A Badel was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion after the 200 Metres and again near the 100 Metres.
Made contact shortly after start, raced 3 wide, a length or so back, sent forward after passing 1200M, took the lead 1050M, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 100M.
Incident Report
No report.
Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, headed near 1050M, sat right behind the leader on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 100M.
Incident Report
No report.
Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed some response early in straight, no clear run final 150M.
Incident Report
Over the final 150 Metres was held up behind MANYTHANKS FOREVER and could not be ridden out to the finish of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Began only fairly and made contact, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, 4 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 100 Metres was shifted to the inside of PERFECT PEACH to continue into clear running.
Slightly slow out, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide after passing 700M, peaked early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Z Purton could offer no excuse for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer C W Chang stated that PERFECT PEACH had pleased him leading into today’s event but advised the horse was a little stirred up prior to the start of the race. He added also, in his opinion, PERFECT PEACH does not appreciate racing in amongst other horses and this may have contributed to the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The performance of PERFECT PEACH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, PERFECT PEACH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
Bumped on jumping, raced slightly better than midfield on the outside, no cover from 1000M, moved closer on turn, weakened early in straight when hard run took effect. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Bumped near the 350 Metres. Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
