On jumping was crowded by YODA’S CHOICE which shifted in. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when crowded to the inside of LESLIE (M F Poon) which shifted in. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care. Prior to declaring weighed-in C Y Ho viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were sufficient grounds to lodge a protest/objection. When he was satisfied there were not sufficient grounds he declined to lodge a protest/objection and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

L Ferraris stated that he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to lead and as a consequence YODA’S CHOICE finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. C L Chau reported that his instructions from a wide barrier were to endeavour to find cover. He said as a consequence his mount settled further back in the field than its previous race starts so as to comply with his instructions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

R Kingscote reported that his mount was fractious in the barriers and when being assisted by the starting gate handler its bridle shifted, resulting in it becoming unsecured. He said as a result in the early stages he was obliged to reach forward to reposition the bridle to its correct position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of MAGIC COSMOS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC COSMOS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
