Pressed forward from a poor draw, obtained one back 2-wide position 1100M out, in similar position but 3rd onto home bend, switched out to challenge 400M out, fought on dourly to get up final strides and just defy late challenges.

Z Purton stated that the horse responded only fairly in the Home Straight but was disappointing. Assistant Trainer C K Tong stated that the horse had pleased the stable leading into today’s race but found it difficult to finish the race off first up carrying 133 lbs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING OVATION will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was hampered when bumped by INFINITE RESOLVE which shifted out after making contact with WINNING OVATION. Raced keenly in the early stages. K Teetan reported that his mount failed to run on in the Home Straight but could offer no explanation for the performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Withdrawn at the Start by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, INVINCIBLE SHIELD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
