Out in line, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, peaked on run 450M, weakened early in straight. (A laceration to the right hock.)

Incident Report
Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with GIDDY UP. Near the 900 Metres was crowded between GOOD FORTUNE which shifted out when positioned close to GIDDY UP and VOYAGE BOSS which lay in towards LUCKY MCQUEEN and was steadied to avoid that runner. Sent for sampling post-race.

Out with rest, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of GOOD FORTUNE. Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Away with them, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, 7 lengths or so back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Noted to have sustained a laceration to the left hock.

Made contact shortly after start, tracked leaders on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually thereafter.

When questioned K C Leung stated that near the 900 Metres his mount lay in and away from BUNTA BABY and was steadied to avoid LUCKY MCQUEEN.

Shifted in shortly after start and made contact, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader, same margin back on turn, finished off evenly.

Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by VOYAGE BOSS which shifted in and away from BUNTA BABY (Apprentice P N Wong) after being taken in by that runner. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care.

Bumped on jumping, raced at rear on the outside, 7 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame without threatening.

Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping. Despite being ridden along in the early stages was unable to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Noted to have sustained a laceration to the right front leg. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slightly slow out, raced 2 wide in midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid CLUB ACE and as a result shifted out. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to restrain his mount and race at the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-3/4L turning in, kicked clear early in straight, kept on strongly to the line, easily scored.

Bumped at the start. Approaching the 500 Metres was eased when crowded between LUCKY MCQUEEN and JUBILANT STAR which shifted out slightly.

Taken back from gate 9, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on evenly in straight.

Jumped only fairly and then raced in restricted room between INVICTUS DRAGON and LUCKY MCQUEEN which shifted out slightly. After the event L Ferraris reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount settled further back when it jumped only fairly and was tightened shortly after the start.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 7 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight, eased final 150M.

Near the 900 Metres was bumped by OLDTOWN and became unbalanced.

Bumped on jumping, raced at tail, 8 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, no clear run final 100M, eased close home.

Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid BUNTA BABY (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised she must ensure she is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 450M, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

After the event A Badel stated that from an inside barrier his mount commenced well and was able to take up a forward position in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, ELEGANT LIFE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
