BELARDO, the son of LOPE DE VEGA and former Godolphin’s runner, was trained by Roger Varian with 5 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third in 16 starts. He landed G1 Dewhurst Stakes and Lockinge Stakes, also placed 2nd in Queen Elizabeth II Stakes behind SOLOW and Queen Anne Stakes beaten by TEPIN. BELARDO joined the stallion roster of Darley, Ireland in 2017 and used to perform stud duties in New Zealand while he is now stationing at Bearstone Stud, Great Britain with 17 black type contests winners including 2025 The FWD Champions Mile winner RED LION. BELARDO sold to Yigit Stud, Turkey continue his stud career in 2026. WORD OF KINDNESS was purchased by current owner Mr. Anthony Shum Wai Hing at NZD$ 48,000 in 2023 NZB National Weanling Sale. He was trained by Tim & Margaret Carter in New Zealand and took part in 4 barrier trials where he led early but weakened late for 3rd in an 850M trial (18th Nov 2024) on good going, taken back and always at rear outside to finish last in an 800M section (3rd Dec 2024) with 8 runners on soft going, then slightly slow out but soon to lead and kept on for 2nd when asked late in an 800M section (17th Dec 2024) on soft going.On his 4th overseas trial over 800M (1st Apr 2025), he sat handy early on rail and kept on one-paced for 4th on good going. His dam FAIRY STORY is half-sister of former HK runner REGENCY GEM while his full-brother and half-sister won at 1400M and 1500M respectively. The brown gelding looks like his dam’s sire PENTIRE that should be a middle-distance runner and fine on dirt.
