STARSPANGLEDBANNER was trained by Leon Corstens in Australia, and landed G1 Caulfield Guineas and Oakleigh Plate with Daniel Nikolic on board. He was purchased by Coolmore and under Aidan O'Brien’s handling afterwards. After settled in Ireland, STARSPANGLEDBANNER claimed Golden Jubilee Stakes and July Cup with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle and made him became a champion sprinter in both European and Australia. He joined the Coolmore’s stallion roster after retirement but he was sent to second tier stud farm due to his low pregnancy rate. However, his next generations brought some surprise to Coolmore with victories among Royal Ascot races and STARSPANGLEDBANNER made his return. As of now, 59 runners won the black type contests including four-time G1 winner STATE OF REST. CALIFORNIA SPANGLE and BEAUTY ETERNAL are his representatives in HK. His service fee is EUR€ 60,000 in 2026. STAR ELEGANCE was sold at EUR€ 170,000 in 2023 Goffs Orby Yearling Sale (Book 1) and owned by Teme Valley Racing that trained by Joseph O'Brien in Ireland. His dam DEIRA SURPRISE was also trained by Joseph O'Brien and the daughter of SLADE POWER won at 1436M on poly-track surface while she has one racing foal and searching for first win. The chestnut gelding from Ireland should be fine to handle mile and no issue on dirt.
