After the event H T Mo stated that the instructions were to hold a more forward position but his mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so despite being ridden along.

Average to begin, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, challenged by rival early in straight, headed 300M, kept on well, lost 2nd close home.

Slow to begin. Near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind PANACEA. H Bowman was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides after the 200 Metres.

Jumped well from gate 10, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take 2nd, nearest finish.

Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAUTY BOLT when racing keenly. Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

Kicked out with its right hind leg and made contact with a parade ring partition. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found suitable to race. After the event H Bentley stated that he was instructed to hold an on-pace position. He added that when caught wide early he elected to continue forward to lead to avoid covering additional ground.
