Moderately away from a wide draw, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened gradually final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped shortly after start, raced towards rear on the inside, a bit closer in the middle stages, angled out approaching 500M, 4 lengths back turning in, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by KA YING RESILIENCE which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away, raced slightly better than midfield on the outside, found rail near 700M, angled out 450M, finished off strongly to take 2nd.

Taken back from gate 10, raced towards rear on the outside, 8 lengths or so back, travelled greenly in the early stages, found rail near 700M, same margin back turning in, made no impression in straight.

Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Lay in under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight.

Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Jumped only fairly. After the event K De Melo reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced in midfield, 3 lengths or so back turning in, kept on same pace in straight.

Jumped only fairly. Became unbalanced near the 900 Metres when positioned tight to the inside of ABSOLUTE AWAKENED. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TOP TO SKY. Approaching the 200 Metres JUICY DRAGON then could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to JOYFUL TREASURE. After being shifted to the inside of JOYFUL TREASURE near the 150 Metres JUICY DRAGON again could not be ridden out over the concluding stages when positioned close to PATCH OF TIME.

Began well from gate 1, took the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 75M.

Near the 200 Metres was steadied when placed in restricted room between SOMELOVEFROMABOVE and JOYFUL TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, one-paced in the run home.

After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that soon after the start his mount blundered and as a result settled towards the rear of the field. He said throughout the early and middle stages his mount did not travel comfortably and did not respond to his riding to attempt to hold a more forward position. He added on entering the Home Straight when he was concerned there may be something amiss with AEROVOLANIC when it again blundered, he then retired the horse from the event. Trainer P C Ng stated that the horse had pleased him during the lead-up to today’s race and he expected it to perform well. He said, in his opinion, the horse blundering soon after the start was the reason as to why its action may not have appeared to be right during the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AEROVOLANIC was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AEROVOLANIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SPICY SPANGLE, which was proving difficult to load, reared over and as a result was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, SPICY SPANGLE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
