Jumped only fairly, raced in midfield on outer, dropped towards rear 800M, 5 lengths or so back on turn, failed to close off in straight.

After the event K De Melo reported that leaving the 300 Metres his right foot slipped from his stirrup for a short distance before he was able to reposition it into his stirrup. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide better than midfield, moved closer 650M, 3/4L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when crowded between GOOD PROSPECT and VULCANUS which shifted out slightly.

Slightly slow out and bumped, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths back turning in, made some progress early in straight, no clear run final 100M.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield early, dropped to midfield after entering the back straight, bumped near 450M, 3 lengths back turning in, closed off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

Jumped awkwardly. Near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid GOOD PROSPECT. In the middle stages raced ungenerously. Near the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by GOOD PROSPECT which shifted out.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, commenced move after passing 800M, 3 lengths or so back on turn, made good progress in straight to take a place without threatening. (See Racing Incidents.)

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the inside, commenced move 500M, very wide turning in, made no progress in straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in at start and bumped, sent forward to take the lead, found rail near 1400M, led by 3/4L in the middle stages, headed and dropped towards rear 600M, hampered near 500M, eased thereafter.

Leaving the 50 Metres raced in restricted room between BEAUTY THUNDER and INCANTO STAR which shifted out slightly. After the event C L Chau reported that the instructions were to go forward. He said his mount jumped only fairly and did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a forward position which he attributed to the "Good to Yielding” track conditions.

Shifted out at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, moved closer after entering the back straight, positioned 3 wide, a length or so back on turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened close home.

Near the 1150 Metres was momentarily crowded by MEGA BONUS which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres. After the event L Ferraris reported that his mount failed to handle the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 1, raced prominently on the inside, allowed rival to cross 1400M, 2 wide from 1100M, took the lead 600M, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, weakened late.

After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when it bumped with KING ECCELLENTE. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between VULCANUS and FORTUNE RACER which was taken in by MEGA BONUS (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded. After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but when asked for an effort in the Home Straight did not stretch out on the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Incident Report
The performance of FORTUNE RACER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE RACER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
