For a short distance near the 250 Metres raced tight to the inside of JOYFUL LIFE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. After the event L Hewitson stated that from a more favourable barrier tonight DOUBLE SHOW was able to hold an on-pace position without having to make use of the horse to do so. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, finished off well to take a place.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

Bumped at the start. Near the 350 Metres was eased when racing tight between WIND SPEEDER and SPEEDY SMARTIE which shifted out to improve.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, positioned 5 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on same pace to the line.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of B Avdulla, 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Away well, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event H Bentley stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to allow EVER SMART to continue forward to cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide. He added that in retrospect EVER SMART may not have been suited by leading the event as it races best when able to make up ground from behind runners. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the outside, 7 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight without threatening.

Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded between SKY PROPHET and ACCOLADE START which shifted in.

Commenced well, raced behind midfield on outer, 5 lengths or so back turning in, peaked early in straight, kept on same pace to the line. (See Racing Incidents.) (Lame right front leg next day morning.)

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event M L Yeung stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.<29/5/2025 Additional Veterinary Reports> WIND SPEEDER, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. WIND SPEEDER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, WIND SPEEDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 1-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in at start and bumped, raced 2 wide at rear, 7 to 8 lengths back turning in, one-paced in the run home.
