Commenced well, positioned 2 wide, 4 lengths back, difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, same margin back on turn, showed some response early in straight, weakened final 150M.

Moderately away from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, sent forward after entering the back straight, 2nd in the middle stages, hit the front 200M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 1000 Metres shifted in and brushed the running rail when racing ungenerously. Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid HAPPY TRIO when that horse went amiss. After the 300 Metres was eased to avoid KA YING POWER.

Away well, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 200M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with LUCKY ARCHANGEL. After the event Z Purton reported that his mount finished the race off only fairly and he had some concern with its action in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, YEE CHEONG SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide barrier.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide behind midfield, travelled keenly in the early stages, angled out and moved a bit closer after passing 900M, no cover from 800M, 4Ls back turning in, weakened early in straight, eased final 200M.

Near the 800 Metres went amiss when it sustained an injury to its left front leg and was retired from the event. Samples were taken from the horse.
