Taken back from gate 9, raced behind midfield on the outside, unable to maintain position after passing 600M, last turning in, emptied early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between GALLANT CROWN and PHANTOM CYCLONE, both of which shifted ground.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, found rail near 800M, 2 wide from 600M, 6 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GALLANT CROWN. Approaching the 800 Metres improved to the inside of GALLANT CROWN when that runner shifted out slightly. Near the 750 Metres was then steadied when crowded by GALLANT CROWN (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted back in. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded. Lay out under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 200 Metres M Chadwick was obliged to change his whip through to his left hand.

Crowded shortly after start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, weakened after passing 500M, eased final furlong. (Irregular heart rhythm.)

When caught wide in the early stages raced keenly when being steadied near the 1200 Metres to obtain cover behind LUCKY BANNER.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide towards rear, 7 lengths or so back, commenced move 550M, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by CHILL KAKA which shifted out to improve. VIVA CHALEUR was then obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, kept on well in straight to take a place. (See Racing Incidents.)

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted in at start and made contact, raced 2 wide better than midfield, 3 wide on turn, finished off strongly, led close home.

After the event L Ferraris reported that his mount lost its tongue tie during the middle stages. The Veterinary Officer reported subsequent to the race that the horse returned without its tongue tie.

Began only fairly, raced at rear, 7 lengths back turning in, made good progress in the run home, nearest finish.

Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of LUCKY BANNER as it continued into clear running. After improving to the inside of RUN RUN TIMING near the 100 Metres then became held up behind PRECISION GOAL and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.

Taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead near 100M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.
