Bumped at the start. Near the 300 Metres L Hewitson dropped his whip. After the event, L Hewitson advised that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position with his mount stepping up in distance from a favourable barrier.

After being shifted to the inside of DRAGON JOY to obtain clear running near the 450 Metres then became held up behind GHORGAN between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.

Bumped start and unbalanced, raced at tail, 10 lengths or so back, commenced move 550M, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, very wide into straight, made very good progress in the run home, nearest on line.

In the early part of the Home Straight lay in when commencing to give ground. After the event, M F Poon stated that his mount raced too keenly in the early and middle stages and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
