Began well, raced better than midfield on the inside, easy run to turn, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Shortly after the start was crowded between GOLDEN RISE and GALLANT VALOUR and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, challenged by rival from 400M, made contact early in straight, kept on well but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

Shifted out shortly after the start and made contact with SUPER JOY N FUN. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running between HAYDAY and SUPER JOY N FUN. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 2 wide towards rear, 3 wide on turn, made little progress in straight.

Trainer C Fownes confirmed that from the outside barrier Apprentice E C W Wong was given the option of going forward if SUGAR SUGAR jumped well.

Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the outside early, moved a bit closer after passing 950M, found a 2 wide spot 650M, peaked on turn, weakened gradually final furlong.

Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between REGAL GEM and GALLANT VALOUR, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, NORDIC DRAGON made contact with GALLANT VALOUR and became unbalanced.

Shortly after the start was crowded between HAYDAY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and SUPER JOY N FUN which shifted out and away from GOLDEN RISE. Near the 250 Metres was bumped by NORDIC DRAGON and became unbalanced. After the event, B Avdulla could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, 7 lengths back turning in, made little progress in straight.

Near the 900 Metres improved to the inside of GALLANT VALOUR and shortly afterwards was steadied when momentarily crowded by GALLANT VALOUR which shifted in. PRAWNS ELEVEN then raced keenly for some distance thereafter. After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount was unable to cross runners to its inside in the early stages and as a result settled further back than what he had anticipated. He added that in the Home Straight PRAWNS ELEVEN did not respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, PRAWNS ELEVEN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
