Began well from the widest draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made minor progress in straight.

Shortly after the start shifted in, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.

For some distance near the 1500 Metres got its head up when being shifted behind ROMANTIC LAOS to obtain cover. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, took the lead 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M, just beaten by a head.

Jumped well, raced 3 wide slightly better than midfield, no cover for the majority of the race, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

On jumping was crowded between STAR MAC and BEAUTY ALLIANCE, both of which shifted ground.

Jumped only fairly and shortly afterwards was crowded by SIMPLY MAVERICK which shifted out abruptly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <13/3/2025 Additional Veterinary Report> After the race, WINNING STEPS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. WINNING STEPS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P C Ng this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING STEPS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Slowly away, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.
