Near the 300 Metres was bumped and taken wider by ACE TALENT. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, took the lead 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M, just beaten by a head.

Approaching the 900 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded by WOOD ON FIRE which shifted in slightly. Near the 150 Metres was momentarily crowded between WOOD ON FIRE and ACE TALENT which shifted out.

Jumped with them, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made good progress early in straight, no extra final 100M.

Moderately away from gate 1, positioned a length behind the leader on rail, angled out 350M, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly. In the middle stages raced keenly. Approaching the 300 Metres made contact with CRYSTAL POWERFUL when being shifted to the outside of DIAMOND SOARS to attempt to obtain clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from the widest draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made minor progress in straight.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on outer, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made minor progress in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid TIMESTORM.

Jumped well, raced 3 wide slightly better than midfield, no cover for the majority of the race, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Approaching the 900 Metres made contact with DIAMOND SOARS due to both runners shifting ground. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Average to begin, sent forward to race prominently, took the lead near 700M, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for his mount’s failure to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the event, K Teetan advised that his mount failed to travel throughout the race and did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slowly away, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Slow to begin. Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to obtain a more forward position.
