Began well from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, a bit closer on turn, finished off well to take a place.

Near the 500 Metres was bumped by GALLANT CROWN which shifted out to improve. After the 200 Metres commenced to lay in, resulting in its rider Apprentice P N Wong changing her whip through to her right hand. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, raced 3 wide with cover slightly behind midfield, wider turning in, made some progress in straight to make frame.

After the event, R Kingscote stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a midfield position in the early stages. He said from his wide barrier he was obliged to settle slightly further back to avoid racing wide.

Shifted out at start and made contact, taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, 4-1/2L back turning in, no clear run until 250M, ran on evenly to the line. (See Racing Incidents.)

M L Yeung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1100 Metres (see GALLANT CROWN). After the event, M L Yeung reported that his mount, in his opinion, would be better suited by being dropped back to 1400 Metres for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of BEAUTY LIVE.

M L Yeung (KINGLY DEMEANOR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of NAMJONG KINGDOM, resulting in NAMJONG KINGDOM being taken in and crowding GALLANT CROWN, resulting in GALLANT CROWN being checked away from the heels of NAMJONG KINGDOM. M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 23 March 2025 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to obtain cover. He said his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well from gate 10, tracked leaders, 3 wide, there to turn, showed very good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, 5 lengths or so back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Eased near the 1100 Metres when crowded. When giving ground near the 400 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between GALLANT CROWN and BABY SATELLITE which shifted out and away from KINGLY DEMEANOR. After the event, H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier he was given the option of obtaining a more forward position. He said when NAMJONG KINGDOM commenced well he elected to allow that runner to stride forward and race towards the lead. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NAMJONG KINGDOM was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG KINGDOM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Commenced well, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner final 150M.

Withdrawn on veterinary advice when it was found to be distressed prior to entering the Parade Ring. Before being allowed to race again, LITTLE SQUID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
