Moderately away, raced in 4th, saved ground on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off evenly.

Approaching the 400 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between COSMO NAVIGATOR and GOOD PROSPECT which shifted out. In the Home Straight hung in and for some distance near the 200 Metres proved reluctant to shift to the outside of GOOD PROSPECT. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped only fairly and then raced tight to the inside of MY INTELLIGENT shortly after the start. In the middle stages raced keenly. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, raced in midfield early, slightly improved after passing 700M, 3/4L back turning in, kept on well in straight to take a place.

Near the 550 Metres was momentarily crowded between COSMO NAVIGATOR and JUDY’S GREAT which shifted out when being steadied away from CLUB ACE whilst racing keenly. Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider M L Yeung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Began well, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader, a bit closer on turn, finished off strongly to score by a nose.

After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount was able to hold the lead and in the Home Straight responded only fairly to his riding when placed under pressure. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Near the 350 Metres was steadied away from SIGHT HAPPY. After the event, B Thompson stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said in the early stages when caught wide he was obliged to steady his mount towards the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground.

Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner on line.

Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid CLUB ACE when racing keenly.

Taken back to race at rear, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off well without threatening.

Bumped at the start. When questioned regarding the performance, K Teetan stated that his mount was a little slow to begin but was able to obtain a midfield position in the early stages as anticipated. He said leaving the 600 Metres SIGHT HAPPY came under pressure at which point he was required to urge his mount forward and in the Home Straight did not respond to his riding and was disappointing. Trainer D A Hayes advised that SIGHT HAPPY had pleased the stable leading into the event and he had expected the horse to run well. He added he could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SIGHT HAPPY was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT HAPPY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
