Began only fairly and made contact, raced 2 wide better than midfield, difficult to settle in the early stages, found rail near 650M, 2-1/2L back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 150M.

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between GAMEPLAYER ELITE and MEGA BONUS (B Avdulla) which shifted out. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from a tricky draw, prominent on outer, raced wide and without cover until near 600M, positioned 2 wide, 2 lengths back in the middle stages, kept on evenly in straight.

Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards gave consideration as to whether ICONICAL had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from Jockey K Teetan and Deputy Starter Mr C McMullen, the Stewards found that ICONICAL lay on the side of the gates as the start was effected and lost ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that ICONICAL had been afforded the opportunity to start with the field, the horse was declared a runner.

Bumped shortly after start, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover from 600M, very wide into straight, finished off evenly.

Shortly after the start was crowded between NOBLE GO and OUR LUCKY GLORY which was taken out by MEGA BONUS. Approaching the 300 Metres became unbalanced when being steadied whilst positioned close to the heels of NOBLE GO.

Taken back from gate 11, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 lengths back turning in, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, nearest finish.

Began smartly, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on very well in straight and scored.

Shifted in slightly at the start and bumped with NOBLE GO. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When placed under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight lay in and raced greenly.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, 8-1/2L back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, dropped towards rear from 500M, 5 lengths or so back turning in, one-paced in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping bumped with GAMEPLAYER ELITE and became unbalanced. Noted to have lost its left hind plate and sustained a laceration to its right hind leg after the race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place.

The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if SWAGGER BRO had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from Jockey M L Yeung, Trainer D A Hayes and Deputy Starter Mr C McMullen, it was established that as the start was effected Jockey Yeung had his right arm positioned on the barrier partition whilst he adjusted his right stirrup. As the Stewards were satisfied that SWAGGER BRO was unable to jump with the field as a consequence, they determined that the horse was denied a fair start and as such was declared a non-runner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
