Crowded shortly after start, positioned 2 wide, 3 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, finished off very strongly to score.

Shortly after the start was crowded between FUNG and DIAMOND SOARS which was taken out by WISDOM STAR. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, angled out 400M, finished off well to take 2nd.

For some distance near the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of EVER SMART. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded shortly after start, raced in 2nd, travelled well to turn, hard ridden approaching 300M, kept on well early in straight, peaked on run 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

Out with rest, raced in midfield on the outside, 6 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced towards rear on the outside, 6 lengths or so back, found rail near 550M, same margin back turning in, made some headway in straight.

Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of VERBIER to continue into clear running.

Slowly away, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M.

After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that from a wide barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position. He added that, in his opinion, DAY DAY VICTORY would be better suited racing over 1000 Metres, however, he was concerned with the horse’s action. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, DAY DAY VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide in midfield, dropped towards rear 600M, 7 lengths back turning in, made no progress in straight.

Out in line, raced behind midfield on the outside, no cover for the majority of the race, 8 lengths or so back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between DIAMOND SOARS and DOUBLE BINGO, both of which shifted ground. After the event, Apprentice P N Wong reported that the instructions were to take up a forward position but after being crowded shortly after the start her mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position which she attributed to the All Weather surface being rated "Wet Slow”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of FUNG, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FUNG will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Moderately away, showed no early speed, raced at tail, 13 lengths back turning in, eased early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event, H Bentley reported that his mount did not respond to his riding in the early stages and became detached from the field. He attributed this to ISLAND GOLDEN racing on the All Weather surface when it was rated "Wet Slow”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ISLAND GOLDEN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND GOLDEN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
