On jumping was crowded between SUMMIT CHEERS and DIVINE MOONLIGHT which shifted in. After the event, C L Chau reported that his mount would be better suited by being stepped back up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began awkwardly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, 2 wide from 700M, unable to obtain clear run until approaching final 100M, made some headway thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Began awkwardly and lost ground, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back, 3 wide from 700M, 4 lengths back turning in, finished off strongly to score by a neck.

Stumbled on jumping, shifted in and was bumped. When questioned, H Bentley stated that his instructions were to lead the event but after jumping awkwardly his mount settled further back in the early stages. He said near the 800 Metres when positioned to the outside of SUMMIT CHEERS he elected to allow that runner to cross him as he felt he would have had to make too much use of his mount to hold that position. He added that the decision to allow SUMMIT CHEERS to cross was also influenced by the fact that DIVINE MOONLIGHT had given ground in the Home Straight after being ridden to lead its first race start.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Whilst proceeding to enter the racecourse dislodged its rider Apprentice P N Wong. KING VICTOR then refused to proceed to the Start and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, KING VICTOR will be required to undergo a parade test.
