Jumped well from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two close home.

M F Poon pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference over the concluding stages (see CIRCUIT DUFFY). Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, commenced move after passing 550M, 3 wide turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 50M. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event, Z Purton confirmed that from a wide barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 600M, 2-1/2L back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 150M, finished off strongly to score.

Incident Report
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 250 Metres improved into a narrow run between BULB EMPEROR and ROARING BEBE and as a result made contact with ROARING BEBE. Over the final 100 Metres was taken in by FORTUNE WHISKEY.

Moderately away, raced towards rear on the outside, sent forward after passing 700M, a length back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M. (Bled.) (Lame right front leg next day.)

Bumped on jumping. Near the 250 Metres was hampered when taken in by CIRCUIT DUFFY. Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of GALVANIC when that runner was taken in by FORTUNE WHISKEY.

Jumped well, raced better than midfield on the inside, dropped towards rear 650M, 3 lengths back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, eased final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)

Jumped only fairly, positioned 2 wide in midfield, commenced move after passing 600M, very wide turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter.

Near the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between IRON LEGION and SWEET DIAMOND which was taken in by CIRCUIT DUFFY.

Jumped awkwardly and made contact, raced at rear, 8 lengths or so back, a bit closer after passing 600M, very wide into straight, made no impression in the run home.

On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by TOGEPI which shifted out. Approaching the 1000 Metres was bumped by ROARING BEBE which shifted in. KA YING POWER then raced keenly for some distance thereafter. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. Approaching the 200 Metres again became held up for clear running behind SWEET DIAMOND and as a consequence was unable to be ridden out over the final 200 Metres.

Shifted in at start and made contact, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide from 600M, closer on turn, very wide into straight, made some progress early in straight, peaked 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

M F Poon (FORTUNE WHISKEY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of GALVANIC, resulting in GALVANIC being taken in across the rightful running of CIRCUIT DUFFY, resulting in CIRCUIT DUFFY having to be steadied to avoid GALVANIC. M F Poon was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 5 March 2025 and to expire on Monday, 10 March 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 3 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide after passing 850M, angled out 400M, very wide into straight, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Incident Report
Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with SWEET DIAMOND. Approaching the 1000 Metres shifted in and was bumped. Bumped near the 250 Metres. <6/2/2025 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that ROARING BEBE was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, ROARING BEBE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Away with them, raced in 2nd early, 2 wide, allowed rival to cross 900M, sat 1-1/2L behind the leader in the middle stages, found rail approaching 650M, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight to make frame.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Out with rest, raced better than midfield on the outside, moved closer after passing 1150M, 2nd in the middle stages, peaked early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and for a short distance soon after the start raced tight between IRON LEGION and FORTUNE WHISKEY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Made contact shortly after start, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, taken wide in straight and made some progress.

Incident Report
After the event, Y L Chung reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position. Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued similar instructions at the horse’s first start when it settled further back after commencing only fairly.
