Jumped with them, raced 3 wide behind midfield, dropped towards rear 500M, 5 lengths back turning in, made minor progress in the run home.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 3 wide better than midfield, made contact near 550M, dropped to midfield on turn, very wide into straight, kept on same pace in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was crowded between HAMERON and ROCKET SPADE which was taken out by AMAZING VICTORY. Bumped near the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from a wide draw, raced prominently but trapped wide, dropped to midfield on turn, weakened early in straight when hard run took toll.

After the event, M Chadwick stated that the intention was to find cover but when the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time and no other runners showed intent to lead, SURE JOYFUL led without being pressure to do so. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued.

Began smartly, tracked leaders on the inside, saved ground throughout, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on strongly to the line and scored. (Jockey dropped whip 100M.)

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 150M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

After the event, H Bowman could offer no explanation for his mount’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, moved a bit closer along the rail on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off well to take a place without threatening.

Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SIMPLE HEDGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Slightly slow out, raced 2 wide better than midfield, travelled keenly in the early stages, made contact near 550M, 2-3/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Near the 500 Metres was briefly crowded between AESTHETICISM and SIMPLE HEDGE which shifted in slightly. Between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres AMAZING VICTORY raced tight between SIMPLE HEDGE and AESTHETICISM which shifted out. After the event, C Y Ho reported that with the event being run outside of standard time throughout the early stages AMAZING VICTORY raced keenly and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped at the start. When giving ground near the 200 Metres was bumped by AESTHETICISM which shifted out. Noted to have sustained a small wound to the right hind leg.
