Stewards' Comments
Jumped well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner close home.
Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
Began awkwardly and made contact, taken back to race at tail, 4 to 5 lengths back on turn, finished off very strongly to score. (A cut to the right front leg.)
Incident Report
After the event, B Avdulla stated that it was not his intention to lead but with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time in the early stages his mount led the event without being pressured to do so. Sent for sampling post-race.
Incident Report
No report.
Incident Report
For some distance near the 600 Metres raced tight to the inside of SAME TO YOU (B Avdulla) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.
Began well, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on rail, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.
Incident Report
In the middle stages raced keenly.
Made contact at start, raced towards rear, 5 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, made good progress in the run home, nearest finish.
Incident Report
In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 700 Metres got its head up when racing between DAN ATTACK and LIFE OF STONE. When questioned, Z Purton stated that RUBY SAILING jumped only fairly and as a consequence settled further back in the field than instructed. He said making the Home Turn when following LIFE OF STONE, he elected to shift to that runner’s inside to secure clear running as he felt RUBY SAILING was not travelling well enough to improve to the outside on the Home Turn. He added after being briefly held up RUBY SAILING was able to secure clear running on entering the Home Straight.
Made contact at start, raced behind midfield on the inside, angled out 400M, closed off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.
Incident Report
No report.
Made contact at start, raced 2 wide, 3 lengths or so back, peaked on run 400M, weakened early in straight. (Roarer.)
Incident Report
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Slowly away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, commenced move 500M, very wide into straight, kept on same pace in straight.
Incident Report
After the event, H Bentley reported that his mount was unsuited when the pace of the event was run outside of standard time which resulted in MODEST GENTLEMAN racing keenly throughout the early and middle stages. He said as a result MODEST GENTLEMAN then was unable to run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Began fairly and made contact, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, same position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Incident Report
After being placed in the barriers, when PHILOS broke through the front of the starting gates, ACE TALENT then reacted to that incident and made contact with the front of the starting gates before breaking through and completing the course thereafter when unable to be restrained by its rider. ACE TALENT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, ACE TALENT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
Incident Report
Shortly after being placed in the barriers lunged forward as the blindfold was removed, made heavy contact with the starting gates and broke through, completing the course thereafter when unable to be restrained by its rider. PHILOS was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. The Stewards ruled that PHILOS will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in consecutive barrier trials before being allowed to race again. Was subsequently noted to have sustained a wound to the left nostril.
