Began only fairly, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground throughout, no clear run early in straight, weakened quickly final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between SOLEIL FIGHTER and NEVER TOO SOON. When finishing the race off well over the concluding stages raced in restricted room between SOLEIL FIGHTER and SILO.

Bumped start, positioned 2 wide, 5 lengths or so back, commenced move 400M, showed very good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on very well to the line and scored.

Reared as stalls opened and lost ground, raced at rear on the inside, 6 lengths or so back on turn, angled out 350M, very wide into straight, bumped 300M, finished off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Near the 300 Metres shifted out and made contact with DARING PURSUIT. SUPER UNICORN then lay out in the early part of the Home Straight and after being corrected by its rider shifted in towards SILO, resulting in its rider M Barzalona having to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 150 Metres. Noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the left hind pastern. Sent for sampling post-race.

Shifted out at start and bumped, positioned 1 out 1 back, 3 wide turning in, took the lead 200M, peaked and headed 150M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Shortly after the start was crowded between SILO and M UNICORN.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, commenced move 450M, very wide into straight, finished off strongly to take 2nd.

When questioned, R Moore stated that near the 50 Metres he felt his mount go amiss and eased it down from the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, DARING PURSUIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Near the 900 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by COMET SPLENDIDO which shifted out slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Bumped start, raced behind midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 350M, no clear run early in straight, made minor progress thereafter.

Bumped on jumping, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out 400M, bumped and unbalanced early in straight, made minor progress inside final furlong.

Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was checked when crowded by SUPER UNICORN which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment.

After the event, H Bowman stated that although his mount jumped awkwardly, it was able to lead the event. He said in the Home Straight LOVERO did not respond to his riding and weakened over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LOVERO, a last start winner, was considered disappointing as compared to its last race start. Before being allowed to race again, LOVERO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
