Taken back from gate 9, raced at rear, 2 wide, still well back on turn, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 700 Metres was steadied away from PERFECTO MOMENTS when it improved to the inside of that runner. THE BOOM BOX was then awkwardly placed behind PERFECTO MOMENTS for some distance thereafter. Near the 450 Metres was momentarily held up for clear running behind PERFECTO MOMENTS. Near the 150 Metres was shifted in to obtain clear running after being briefly held up. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, commenced move 500M, 6 lengths or so back turning in, made some headway in straight.

On jumping was bumped by LUCKY MAN which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, 8 lengths back in the middle stages, moved closer on turn, angled out approaching 450M, kept on evenly in straight.

Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shifted out at start, raced behind midfield on the inside, angled out 450M, 8 lengths back turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied to obtain cover when racing tight to the inside of GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY. Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid GOOD CHAP when that runner commenced to give ground and was then shifted to the outside to secure clear running soon after.

Jumped with them, raced in 3rd, 6 lengths or so back in the middle stages, moved closer on turn, finished off strongly, led near finish.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 150 Metres was bumped by THE BOOM BOX.

Out with rest, sent forward to take the lead and set a fast tempo, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner near finish. (See Racing Incidents.)

Noted to have sustained a small laceration to the right hind leg after the race.

After being shifted to the outside of ISLAND BUDDY near the 700 Metres was then steadied to avoid GOOD CHAP as that runner did not improve into the event which resulted in CHEERFUL WORLD shifting back behind ISLAND BUDDY. After the event, L Ferraris stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the early and middle stages and after initially responding to his riding in the Home Straight gave ground over the final 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL WORLD will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, sent forward to race in 2nd, peaked on run 400M, weakened early in straight, eased final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 850 Metres was checked when crowded between ISLAND BUDDY which shifted out slightly and GOOD CHAP which was racing tight to the inside of SUPER LEGENDS (J McDonald) which shifted in slightly. J McDonald was advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside. In taking no direct action, the Stewards found that the racing manners of GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY, which was having its second race start, contributed to the incident in that it shifted out towards the heels of GOOD CHAP prior to being checked.

Near the 1100 Metres was eased when placed in restricted room to the inside of GOOD CHAP. Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied away from THE BOOM BOX.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear, 14 lengths behind the leader in the middle stages, still 9 to 10 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take a place, nearest on line.

Proved difficult to load. The barrier manners and performance of GOOD CHAP were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD CHAP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
