Quickly into stride, showed good speed to take the lead, enjoyed the easy lead in the middle stages, kept on very well in straight and scored.

After the event, H T Mo reported that he was instructed to hold an on-pace position. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions due to a number of first starters being engaged in the event and to avoid having to race inside or behind those runners. Sent for sampling post-race.

After travelling a short distance was steadied when racing tight to the inside of MULTIBINGO. ORIENTAL TYCOON was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping, raced 3 wide with cover towards rear, angled out after passing 500M, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

When questioned, J McDonald stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but on jumping BLAZING WIND made contact with the right side of its barrier. He said in the early stages when SKY VINO held its position three wide and he was to that runner’s outside, he elected to come back and follow SKY VINO to avoid racing wide which resulted in his mount settling further back. He said after shifting to the outside of SKY VINO on straightening, BLAZING WIND responded only fairly to his riding and, in his opinion, raced in a disappointing manner. Trainer C S Shum stated that the only explanation he could offer for the performance was that BLAZING WIND was unsuited by settling further back in the field than he had anticipated. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BLAZING WIND was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, BLAZING WIND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced slightly better than midfield on outer, no cover on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event, A Atzeni reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight, particularly when LUCKY IMPACT had not raced since 15 September 2024. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly and crowded, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight.
