Crowded start, raced in midfield on the outside early, moved closer from 1100M, positioned 2nd in the middle stages, kept on well early in straight, took the lead 150M, headed 100M, weakened quickly thereafter.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 300 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between HAPPY FEELING and ALLOY KING which shifted out slightly. As a result, JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP was shifted to the inside of ALLOY KING to obtain clear running.

Shifted in at start and bumped, raced 2 wide towards rear, similar position on turn, no clear run until final 100M, finished off evenly.

Over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded by SUPER EAGLE (K Teetan) which shifted in. K Teetan was severely reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. Noted to have sustained an abrasion to the left front fetlock after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, no clear run near 150M, cleared 75M, ran on evenly, short of run close home.

Approaching the 100 Metres B Avdulla dropped his left rein for a short distance and then dropped his whip. A short distance later, SAME TO YOU was then steadied when it shifted out towards ISLAND GOLDEN (M F Poon) as that runner shifted in. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, kept on well in straight without threatening.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover for the majority of the race, finished off strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Made contact with the left side of its barrier on jumping and lost ground, raced at tail, 8 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to make frame.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start between SUPER EAGLE and SPEEDY CHARIOT which shifted out slightly. After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount settled further back in the field when it commenced awkwardly. He added over the concluding stages he could not fully test SUPER ELITE when positioned behind SAME TO YOU and in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the run of his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, commenced move 350M, finished off very strongly, led close home.

Jumped well, raced in 3rd, 2 wide, same position on turn, showed good response in straight, took the lead 100M, kept on well but unable to hold off the first two close home.

After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.

Away well, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run in straight.
