1ON THE LASH袁幸堯

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, headed approaching 700M, retook the lead 500M, kept on very well in straight and won by a length. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer P C Ng stated that the horse was disadvantaged at its last start on the All Weather surface when it settled further back in the field than intended and was also obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event He said today ON THE LASH was advantaged by being able to obtain the lead and dictate at a pace inside of standard time. Sent for sampling post-race.

2ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT田泰安

Began only fairly, raced at rear on the outside, improved on turn, 2 to 3 lengths back turning in, finished off well to take 2nd without threatening the winner.

Incident Report
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.

3SUPER HONG KONG梁家俊

Jumped with them, raced behind midfield on the outside, commenced move 800M, took the lead approaching 700M, headed 500M, kept on well until final 100M, stayed on evenly to take a place.

Incident Report
From after the 1000 Metres was obliged to race very wide and without cover and as a result was ridden forward near the 800 Metres.

4FAMILY FORTUNE莫雷拉

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 2 wide towards rear, 4 lengths or so back turning in, angled out early in straight, cleared 300M, finished off evenly.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 900 Metres raced tight to the inside of HAILTOTHEVICTORS.

5SMART BEAUTY鍾易禮

Slightly slow out and made contact, raced at rear on the inside, angled out 550M, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.

Incident Report
Jumped only fairly. Near the 1400 Metres shifted in and made contact with the running rail. When the pace steadied near the 900 Metres raced keenly and as a result was steadied to avoid PERFECT PAIRING. A short distance later SMART BEAUTY then became unbalanced when FAMILY FORTUNE was taken in by HAILTOTHEVICTORS which was racing tight to the inside of SUPER HONG KONG. Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when unable to improve to the inside of PERFECT PAIRING.

6ALL ARE MINE潘頓

Out with rest, raced 2 wide better than midfield, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

Moderately away from gate 1, sat right behind the leader on the inside, saved ground throughout, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final furlong.

Taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually thereafter.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced 2 wide behind midfield, angled out 550M, failed to close off in straight.

Near the 800 Metres was steadied away from SPECIAL HEDGE when racing tight to the inside of HAILTOTHEVICTORS.

Jumped only fairly, raced 3 wide behind midfield, hard ridden after passing 550M, very wide turning in, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
Near the 900 Metres raced tight to the inside of SUPER HONG KONG which shifted in. L Ferraris could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. L Ferraris was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion after the 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from a wide draw, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, similar position on turn, failed to close off in straight.

12SPECIAL HEDGE周俊樂

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared after passing 300M, failed to make any progress thereafter. (Roarer.) (See Racing Incidents.)

Approaching the 700 Metres was steadied away from MATSU VICTOR. C L Chau stated that he was unable to improve in the middle stages when racing behind MATSU VICTOR. He said after entering the Home Straight SPECIAL HEDGE was held up behind MATSU VICTOR for some distance but then when placed under pressure did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

13GOLD TACK黃寶妮

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced 3 wide better than midfield, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to go forward. She said in the early stages when positioned to the outside of ALL ARE MINE she was anticipating that horse to shift to the rail which would allow her mount to obtain a position with cover. She said when MATSU VICTOR held its position to the inside of ALL ARE MINE in the early stages she was obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. When questioned if there was an opportunity to go forward and cross RUN YES RUN having regard to the middle stages being run outside of standard time Apprentice Wong stated that she was reluctant to urge her mount forward as she did not feel it was travelling well enough and that when she realised she was not able to get cover it was getting close to the field turning out of the Back Straight.

14RUN YES RUN楊明綸

Began well from gate 10, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, peaked on run 400M, weakened early in straight, eased thereafter. (Roarer.) (See Racing Incidents.)

Incident Report
M L Yeung reported that his mount failed to run out a strong 1800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer”.
