Taken back from gate 12, raced towards rear on the inside, a bit closer on turn, made no impression in straight.

In the middle stages commenced to race keenly and near the 700 Metres was steadied from the heels of KOL. MEGA CAPTAIN continued to race keenly thereafter and for some distance approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when awkwardly placed to the inside of KOL. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 to 8 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

K Teetan stated that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time and his mount dropping back in distance SIGHT DREAMER settled further back in the field than intended.

When questioned regarding the tactics adopted Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to have the horse ridden in a forward position. She said on jumping VULCANUS blundered and shifted out abruptly, resulting in her dropping her right rein. She said as a consequence VULCANUS lost ground and she was obliged to settle at the rear of the field. When questioned regarding her riding at the 800 Metres Apprentice Yuen stated that she elected to remain racing away from the rail to provide herself with the option of shifting in or out approaching the Home Turn and for this reason she did not improve her position at this stage. She said approaching the 500 Metres she elected to shift towards the inside of SIGHT DREAMER with a view to obtaining a run between runners in the Home Straight, however, became badly held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres. Having regard to the explanation her riding was referred to the Riding Skills Panel for remedial training. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, hard ridden from 450M, kept on well in straight to take a place, not quite able to challenge.

Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Out with rest, positioned 4-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, commenced move near 500M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead approaching 100M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. J Moreira could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually close home.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. M L Yeung stated that his mount was not suited by the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time and was not able to run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KOL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
