Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by MANYTHANKS FOREVER which was taken in by FIRE BALL (Y L Chung). Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care. K C Leung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference over the concluding stages (see JOYFUL LIFE).

Began fairly, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, no daylight early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, finished off strongly, nearest finish.

On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to JOYFUL LIFE was replaced. K C Leung (SUPER WISE DRAGON) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of JOYFUL LIFE, resulting in JOYFUL LIFE having to be checked. K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 30 October 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. After the event, H Bowman stated that, from his wide barrier, he was given no specific instructions where to settle other than not to pressure his mount in the early stages. He said due to the pace of the event being run inside of standard time, JOYFUL LIFE settled further back than what it had at its previous race starts, however, he was able to find a midfield position one-off.

Moderately away, positioned 2 wide, 1-1/2L back, there to turn, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually final 100M.

Lay in in the Home Straight and near the 200 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room between MANYTHANKS FOREVER and SUPER WISE DRAGON which shifted in slightly. C L Chau, who weighed in at 122 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out after passing 500M, 4 lengths back turning in, made some progress in the run home.

Bumped start and unbalanced, positioned 3 wide with cover, 2-1/2L back, there to turn, finished off strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Jumped only fairly. In the early stages over-raced and for some distance near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from MEDIC ELITE.

Shifted out at start and bumped, sent forward to take the lead, 2 wide, travelled well to turn, hard ridden 300M, kept on well but unable to hold off the first two close home.

Bumped at the start. Between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.

For some distance near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running between JOYFUL LIFE and CHEER FOR SOUTH.

Bumped shortly after start, positioned 2 wide, 2 to 3 lengths back, found rail 600M, same margin back turning in, no clear run early in straight, ran on evenly thereafter.

After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that she was obliged to make use of her mount in the early stages to cross and lead and as a result BEAT HOLLOW did not respond strongly to her riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped well from gate 10, unable to slot in, trapped 4 wide, 2 lengths or so back, no cover throughout, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)
