Crowded for room shortly after the start between DASHING DRAGON and MIDORI GLORY (M F Poon) which shifted out. M F Poon was warned for failing to make a greater effort to keep his mount straight shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slowly away and inconvenienced, raced at rear on the outside, moved closer after passing 900M, 3 lengths or so back on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Passing the 400 Metres got unbalanced when being bumped by FAST NETWORK which shifted in in an attempt to obtain clear running and to avoid the heels of MIDORI GLORY. Near the 150 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was steadied to avoid the heels of FAST NETWORK (Z Purton) which shifted in when improving quickly onto the heels of CHEVAL VALIANT which shifted out under pressure. In all the circumstances, Z Purton was issued with a reprimand for his role in the incident.

Away well, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)
