Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SKY TRUST. C Y Ho reported that his mount settled further back than he had intended as it did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, raced slightly behind midfield on the inside, a bit closer on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off strongly to snatch victory in a ding-dong finish.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Bumped after the 200 Metres.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, failed to make any progress in straight. (Bled.) (Roarer.)

Approaching the 50 Metres was shifted to the inside of GUSTOSISIMO to obtain clear running and over the concluding stages raced tight between GUSTOSISIMO and MAGIC CONTROL and as a result made contact with MAGIC CONTROL.

Clean jump, raced prominently on the inside, travelled well to turn, took the lead early in straight, kept on well but unable to hold off the first few on line.

Between the 450 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running behind LADY’S CHOICE. Approaching the 200 Metres improved into a narrow run between LADY’S CHOICE and WUNDERBAR and as a result made contact with WUNDERBAR for some distance thereafter. Bumped over the concluding stages.

Bumped on jumping, raced 2 wide better than midfield, 3 wide turning in, finished off strongly, just beaten by a neck.

Jumped only fairly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Taken back from gate 12, raced at tail, 6 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight without threatening. (See Racing Incidents.)

For some distance near the 200 Metres made contact with MAGIC CONTROL when that runner shifted out to improve. After the 200 Metres raced tight between GUSTOSISIMO and MAGIC CONTROL and as a result made contact with GUSTOSISIMO. H Bowman could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced slightly behind midfield on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made very good progress in straight, just beaten in a ding-dong battle.

Bumped start, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, kept on evenly in straight.

Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by GUSTOSISIMO which shifted out. Near the 800 Metres SWIFT ASCEND (A Badel) shifted in, resulting in INVINCIBLE SHIELD being taken in towards MUGEN which resulted in MUGEN racing tight to the inside of INVINCIBLE SHIELD. A short distance later SWIFT ASCEND improved to the inside of ALL OUT FOR SIX (Y L Chung) when that runner shifted out slightly and gave ground. When ALL OUT FOR SIX then shifted back in slightly SWIFT ASCEND was taken in onto INVINCIBLE SHIELD which resulted in MUGEN being checked when crowded onto the running rail. After considering the incident both A Badel and Y L Chung were advised to exercise more care and to ensure they leave sufficient racing room for runners to their inside. When commencing to finish the race off well near the 100 Metres could not be ridden out to the finish when held up for clear running between LADY’S CHOICE and WUNDERBAR, both of which shifted ground.

Made contact at start, taken back to race towards rear on the outside, 5 lengths or so back, angled out 450M, made some progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

L Ferraris stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount failed to respond to his riding and he was concerned there may be something amiss with it. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WITH YOU will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Out with rest, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, took the lead near 950M, shared lead with rival turning in, peaked and headed early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start, was found to be lame in its right front leg and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, PATCH OF STARS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
