Taken back from gate 11, raced towards rear on the inside, 2 wide turning in, angled out early in straight, finished off strongly to take a place, nearest finish.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the winning post on the first occasion was steadied away from the heels of PERFECT PEACH. Passing the 200 Meres was shifted out away from SMILING EMPEROR to obtain clear running.

Commenced well, raced 2 wide in midfield, 3 to 4 lengths back, very wide turning in, made minor progress in straight.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of BLING BLING GENIUS which was racing tight to the inside of RUN RUN TIMING (R Kingscote) which was taking up a forward position. R Kingscote was reprimanded for failing to leave sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 to 3 lengths back turning in, kept on same pace in straight.

Slow to begin. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was bumped on the hindquarters by PERFECT PEACH.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, 10 lengths back, still 7 to 8 lengths back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 6 lengths back on turn, angled out after passing 400M, peaked early in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

Had its left hind plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Crowded for room approaching the winning post on the first occasion. For a short distance after passing the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide towards rear, 3 wide from 650M, very wide turning in, made no impression in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

A short distance after the start was bumped by MEEPMEEP which shifted in. H Bentley explained that due to the fast tempo in the early and middle stages he elected to leave the running line to a three wide position near the 700 Metres to improve as he felt that the field would come back to him given the fast tempo. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Crowded start, raced slightly behind midfield on the outside, 5 lengths back, very wide turning in, made no progress in straight.

B Avdulla pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the winning post on the first occasion (see PERFECT PEACH). Soon after the start shifted in before being straightened by its rider, however, in doing so bumped STRONGEST BOY.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground throughout, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

B Avdulla (MEEPMEEP) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CARRYON SMILING, resulting in that horse being crowded in onto PERFECT PEACH which resulted in that horse being checked and making contact with the hindquarters of SMILING EMPEROR. B Avdulla was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 4 March 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. K Teetan reported that after his mount received interference approaching the winning post on the first occasion it failed to travel at any stage after that.

Trainer F C Lor advised that the horse would be ridden in a forward position tonight. H T Mo stated that after taking up a forward position, his mount was not able to handle the quick tempo of tonight’s race and failed to run out the 1650 Metres at its first attempt. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance and added that BLING BLING GENIUS was under pressure 600 Metres from the winning post. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BLING BLING GENIUS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BLING BLING GENIUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
