Began only fairly, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, no daylight early in straight, made good progress final 200M to take 2nd, no threat to the winner. (See Racing Incidents.)

Taken back from gate 9, raced 2 wide at rear, commenced move 400M, very wide turning in, made some headway in straight.

In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance leaving the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid STORM RIDER.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run in straight.

Making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight made contact with STORM RIDER when that horse was shifted to the outside of BABY CRYSTAL to improve.

Began well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on very well in straight and scored.

Near the 150 Metres shifted out and as a result was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAUTY WAVES.

Away well, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept to inside after straightening and finished off evenly.

Making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight raced tight between REGAL GEM and BABY CRYSTAL which was giving ground. As a result STORM RIDER made contact with REGAL GEM on a number of occasions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced 2 wide in midfield, travelled keenly in the middle stages, 3 lengths or so back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 100M.

Began well, raced prominently on the outside, a length back turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked 100M, weakened gradually thereafter.

Lunged forward just prior to the start being effected, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. H Bentley reported that his mount came under pressure making the Home Turn and when he was concerned there might be something amiss he did not ride it out to the finish of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BABY CRYSTAL was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BABY CRYSTAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. <5/2/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> BABY CRYSTAL, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. BABY CRYSTAL was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer B Crawford this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, BABY CRYSTAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

Commenced well, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, 2 to 3 lengths back turning in, finished off evenly.

Prior to the start being effected lunged forward, made heavy contact with the front of the starting gates, resulting in its starting gate opening and the horse breaking through before being quickly restrained. Acting on veterinary advice that MAGIC CONTROL was not suitable to race the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC CONTROL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run until final 100M, made no progress thereafter.
