Crowded start, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Near the 1000 Metres was momentarily crowded by SUPERB KING which lay in and away from HAYDAY. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 50M.

Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid HAYDAY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, closed off well to take a place.

Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with WHOWROTETHATSONG.

Jumped with them, raced in midfield on the outside, no cover for the majority of the race, 4 lengths back turning in, made some progress in straight.

Made contact shortly after start, taken back to race 2 wide at rear, 6 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared near 150M, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, nearest finish.

Near the 500 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from REGROWTH WINNER.

Made contact shortly after start, raced behind midfield on outer, bumped near 450M, very wide into straight, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on THE PERFECT MATCH at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, THE PERFECT MATCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began smartly, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened and eased thereafter.

In the early stages lay in, resulting in its rider having to correct his mount near the 1000 Metres.

Bumped start, tracked leaders on the inside, easy run to turn, took the lead 150M, kept on well and scored.

Jumped awkwardly. When questioned A Badel stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said TACTICAL COMMAND lay out throughout the race and in the Home Straight when placed under pressure continued to lay out. He added whilst his preference was to improve to the inside of SWEET BRIAR near the 150 Metres, as TACTICAL COMMAND was laying out, he elected to allow it to continue to shift out to the outside of SWEET BRIAR rather than fight the horse which resulted in TACTICAL COMMAND not being able to be ridden out to the finish when positioned close to ACE POWER.

Moderately away from a wide draw, raced prominently on the outside, 1-1/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced. Approaching the 900 Metres lay in when racing keenly and as a result was steadied away from GOR GOR. Near the 500 Metres lay in and was steadied to avoid GOR GOR.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out and made contact near 450M, no clear run until approaching final 100M, made no progress thereafter.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SUPERB KING. Near the 50 Metres was eased to avoid TACTICAL COMMAND which shifted out.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at tail, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, taken wide in straight and made good progress to be nearest on line.

Approaching the 1000 Metres raced tight to the inside of SWEET BRIAR which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.
