Jumped well, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept to inside after straightening and made good progress, not quite able to challenge.

For a short distance near the 400 Metres was held up behind NEW FUTURE FOLKS. Sent for sampling post-race.

Average to begin, tracked leaders, 2 wide, 2 lengths or so back on turn, hard ridden from 350M, took the lead approaching 150M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M.

B Thompson was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 900 Metres (see BIENVENUE). Lay in in the Home Straight and over the concluding stages B Thompson dropped his right rein. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, 5 lengths back, 2 wide from 550M, same margin back turning in, finished off strongly to take a place, nearest finish.

Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running between ENSHINE which shifted out slightly and CIRCUS REEL. TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR was then shifted to the outside of CIRCUS REEL after the 300 Metres to secure clear running.

Began awkwardly and bumped, raced in midfield, 2 wide, wider from 550M, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back turning in, finished off evenly. (Roarer.)

Jumped only fairly. B Thompson (NEW FUTURE FOLKS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in, resulting in GREAT SPIRIT and NEW FUTURE FOLKS making contact and resulting in insufficient room being left for BIENVENUE, causing L Hewitson to check BIENVENUE when it lost its running at that point. After assessing the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and having regard to Jockey Thompson’s very good record, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty to be a reprimand. Passing the 400 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR to continue into clear running. Approaching the 100 Metres, when racing greenly, shifted in slightly and then was steadied to avoid TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (K C Leung) which shifted out. K C Leung was reprimanded.

Bumped shortly after start, raced better than midfield but trapped wide, moved closer after passing 1050M, 2nd in the middle stages, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 100 Metres was momentarily crowded between ERNEST FEELING and BIENVENUE which shifted out when racing greenly.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear, found rail 1000M, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, made some progress thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LESS IS MORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Commenced well, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, there to turn, kept on same pace in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Brushed a partition with its right hind leg in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
