Bumped start, tracked leaders on the outside, a bit closer after passing 800M, 2nd on turn, took the lead 250M, peaked and headed 200M, weakened final 50M.

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Making the Home Turn was bumped by ALL ROUND WINNER when that runner shifted out to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, saved around on turn, made minor progress in straight.

Z Purton stated that the instructions were to settle in a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages and when he was of the opinion there was no opportunity to obtain cover he elected to allow ABSOLUTE AWAKENED to stride forward and race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued.

Crowded shortly after start, raced 2 wide, 3 lengths back, angled out approaching 400M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 100M, kept on well to the line and scored. (See Racing Incidents.)

Briefly held up making the Home Turn when being shifted to the inside of INNO SUPER to obtain clear running. For some distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind SETANTA. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to PING HAI COMET. M Guyon stated that from the outside barrier his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide draw. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued.

Bumped shortly after start, sat right behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed good response early in straight, took the lead 200M, peaked and headed 100M, weakened close home.

In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from ABSOLUTE AWAKENED. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 250M, weakened 200M, eased final 150M. (Bled.)

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by FORTUNATE SON which shifted out.

Taken back from gate 9, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, taken wide in straight and finished off well to take a place.
