Began well from a wide draw, taken back to race towards rear on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Approaching the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, shifted in towards GREATER BAE and was steadied to avoid that runner. When placed under pressure in the Home Straight hung in and proved difficult to ride out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start and unbalanced, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, similar position on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, travelled well to turn, kept on strongly in straight, won comfortably.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

Near the 900 Metres, STORMY GROVE, which was racing keenly, was steadied to avoid HAROLD WIN (C L Chau) which shifted in when not clear. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. H Bentley was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height near the 300 Metres.

Made contact with the right side of the starting gate on jumping, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run until approaching final 50M, made no progress thereafter.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A Atzeni stated that when his mount was under pressure it became unbalanced and blundered near the 200 Metres.

Jumped only fairly. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. <29/12/2025 Additional Veterinary Reports> The Veterinary Officer reported that JOKER ORBIT was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, JOKER ORBIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Slowly away, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

C Y Ho will be interviewed in respect to returning to scale overweight. <1/1/2026 27 December 2025 Sha Tin Racemeeting> At the time of declaration, C Y Ho notified probable overweight of 2 lbs in respect of HOLMES A COURT’s allocated weight of 119 lbs. C Y Ho then weighed in an additional 1 lb overweight, resulting in Jockey Ho weighing in 3 lbs over the horse’s allocated weight. Jockey Ho was fined the sum of $7,500.

Jumped only fairly. Passing the 100 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of GREATER BAE. L Ferraris stated that his mount travelled only fairly during the race which he attributed to the horse not being comfortable racing amongst other horses. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
