Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear, 6 lengths or so back turning in, no clear run early in straight, found daylight 150M, finished off well to take 2nd.

In the Home Straight lay in. Near the 150 Metres was steadied to avoid RAGING BLIZZARD (B Avdulla) which shifted out. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Reared as stalls open, missed break, raced at tail, 9 lengths back, still well back on turn, weakened early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.) (Irregular heart rhythm.)

Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being steadied to allow WIN CARNELIAN (K Miura) to cross. K Miura was advised to exercise more care and ensure he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside. BEAUTY WAVES raced wide and without cover thereafter. When commencing to give ground near the 250 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between TOMODACHI KOKOROE and RAGING BLIZZARD which shifted out.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide in midfield, there to turn, made some progress early in straight, no extra final 150M.

K Miura was reprimanded for using his whip on two consecutive occasions near the 250 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 1, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, dropped towards rear 600M, 5 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 300M.

When questioned O Murphy stated that on jumping KHAADEM shifted out abruptly which resulted in the buckle of his stirrup leather unfastened. He said as a consequence he was obliged to remove his right foot from his stirrup and he completed the remainder of event without the use of his stirrups.

Taken back from gate 11, raced towards rear on the outside, 5 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

Jumped only fairly. H Doyle reported that in the middle stages her mount commenced to give ground and when she was concerned there was something amiss near the 600 Metres she did not continue to test it for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg. The performance of DIVANO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DIVANO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
