Out with rest, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kicked clear early in straight, kept on very well to the line, won comfortably.

Began only fairly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, saved ground throughout, 8 lengths or so back turning in, kept to inside after straightening and finished off strongly to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Out in line, raced 4 wide with cover behind midfield, no cover from 800M, 4 lengths back turning in, finished off well to take a place without threatening.

Taken back from gate 9, raced behind midfield, difficult to settle, checked and dropped towards rear near 1350M, raced 3 wide behind midfield in the middle stages, 6 lengths or so back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Z Purton stated that approaching the first turn COURIER MAGIC got its head up and commenced to race fiercely. He said for some distance thereafter COURIER MAGIC was checked to avoid runners in front and as a result became badly unbalanced and shifted out abruptly approaching the 1300 Metres. He added that he was also concerned with his mount’s action. Trainer K L Man stated that, in his view, the blinkers being reapplied to the horse caused it to race fiercely. He added that he had been pleased with COURIER MAGIC leading into today’s race and had expected it to run well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The racing manners of COURIER MAGIC were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, COURIER MAGIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial from an inside barrier in amongst other horses and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start, raced at rear, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Near the 1300 Metres was checked to avoid COURIER MAGIC when that runner shifted out abruptly. J McDonald stated that after settling back in the field his mount was disappointing in its failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between ATOMIC BEAUTY and BEAUTY MISSILE which shifted out after being crossed by SMART TRIO. H Bentley could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact shortly after start, raced 2 wide in midfield early, dropped towards rear after entering the back straight, found rail 750M, angled out 450M, 8Ls back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Lay out shortly after the start and made contact with TURF PHOENIX. Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so. He said after being crossed by TURF PHOENIX in the early stages SUPER PACE raced keenly and did not settle for some distance thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
