Began well, raced in midfield on the outside, improved after 450M, very wide turning in, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 50M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner late.

After travelling a short distance made contact with NEW POWER when racing tight to the inside of CHARMING STEED. In the middle stages raced keenly. Near the 150 Metres was hampered when bumped by ROMAN CROWN which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began awkwardly, taken back to race at tail, 6 lengths or so back on turn, made no impression in straight.

Jumped only fairly, shifted out, made contact with NEW POWER and lost ground. Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of CHARMING STEED to obtain clear running and made contact with ROMAN CROWN. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually final 100M.

Bumped approaching the 300 Metres. Over the concluding stages shifted in and away from DENFIELD, resulting in its rider D Probert having to correct his mount approaching the winning post.

Bumped on the hindquarters at the start, raced better than midfield on the outside, steadied near 1050M, positioned 2 wide, 2-1/2L back in the middle stages, carried wider 450M, kept on well until final 50M, ran on evenly to the line.

Began smartly from gate 1, raced prominently on the inside, allowed rival to cross near 500M, sat right behind the leader turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Near the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail. Approaching the 300 Metres made contact with CHARMING STEED. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight between FATAL BLOW and CHARMING STEED, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Jumped well from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, 2 wide, found rail near 500M, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was eased to allow FATAL BLOW to cross. As a result ROMAN CROWN then commenced to race keenly for some distance thereafter. Bumped near the 300 Metres. Near the 150 Metres shifted out and bumped with EVERSTAR. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Doyle, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, she was nonetheless reminded of her obligation to ensure that she fully rides her mounts out to the finish of the race.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide behind midfield, commenced move 450M, very wide turning in, finished off very strongly, led close home.

Bumped on the hindquarters at the start and became unbalanced. Bumped after travelling a short distance. Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by ROMAN CROWN (H Doyle) which shifted in. H Doyle was reprimanded. Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount was crowded approaching the 500 Metres and then did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped start, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on rail, difficult to settle early, 2Ls or so back in the middle stages, angled out 450M, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually final 100M. (Lame left hind leg.)

Jumped only fairly and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. B Avdulla reported that with his mount racing with a hood for the first time tonight it did not travel well in the early stages and as a result became detached from the field despite his efforts to hold a more forward position. He added in the Home Straight ALABAMA SONG responded reasonably well to his riding.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced at rear on the inside, 2 wide from 500M, wider turning in, made some headway in straight.

Shifted out at the start and lost ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slowly away and made contact, raced behind midfield on rail, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared near 150M, one-paced thereafter.
